Curriculum

Little Learners Curriculum
The curriculum I use is based off of the ‘Idaho Early Learning Standards’. I use music, art, games, stories, learning centers, and structured play to teach skills that will prepare your child for Kindergarten.
Pre-K Class (4-5 year olds) – The goal for this class is to teach all the kindergarten readiness skills. We will focus on letter names, letter sounds, phonemic awareness, rhyming, sight words, writing, counting, patterns, and number recognition. These skills will be taught along with reviewing the skills that are taught in the 3 year old class.
Preschool Class (3-4 year olds) – The first goal in this class is to teach the children social skills, such as working together, sharing, taking turns, etc….  The second goal is to teach basic preschool skills.  This class will work on letter recognition, shapes, colors, counting, name recognition, and beginning phonemic awareness.

We will have a weekly theme in each class to teach the children about the world around them. They will get to participate in physical education activities, art activities, music, dramatic play,  science activities and other enriching, fun activities that are focused around the theme.
